In recent years, there has been a considerable growth of application of group technology in cellular manufacturing. This has led to investigation of the primary cell formation problem (CFP), both in classical and soft-computing domain. Compared to more well-known and analytical techniques like mathematical programming which have been used rigorously to solve CFPs, heuristic approaches have yet gained the same level of acceptance. In the last decade we have seen some fruitful attempts to use evolutionary techniques like genetic algorithm (GA) and Ant Colony Optimization to find solutions of the CFP. The primary aim of this study is to investigate the applicability of a fine grain variant of the predator-prey GA (PPGA) in CFPs. The algorithm has been adapted to emphasize local selection strategy and to maintain a reasonable balance between prey and predator population, while avoiding premature convergence. The results show that the algorithm is competitive in identifying machine-part clusters from the initial CFP matrix with significantly less number of iterations. The algorithm scaled efficiently for large size problems with competitive performance. Optimal cluster identification is then followed by removal of the bottleneck elements to give a final solution with minimum inter-cluster transition cost. The results give considerable impetus to study similar NP-complete combinatorial problems using fine-grain GAs in future. 相似文献

The layout of two-terminal nets in a VLSI channel is realized in a new diagonal channel-routing model (DCRM), where the tracks are segments respectively displayed at +45 ° and –45 ° on the two layers of the channel. A new definition of channel density is introduced, and a lower bound to the channel width is derived by the application of an algorithm, whose complexity is evaluated as a function of the channel density, and other parameters of the problem.A simple linear-time algorithm is proposed, which produces an optimal layout (i.e., it requires a channel of minimum width) if the length of the longest net equals the lower bound for the channel width. In any case, the number of vias is at most one for each net. Some particular solutions are proposed for problems with long nets.Specific problems are much easier in DCRM than in the classical Manhattan model. This paper describes an estimation and correction method for the two-dimensional (2D) position errors of a planar XY stage that is driven along the Y-axis by two linear motors. The 2D position errors of the stage were estimated and corrected based on measured motion errors from a conventional laser interferometer system. To compensate for the planar XY stage 2D position errors, corrections were introduced for the yaw, perpendicular, straightness and 1D position errors along each axis, which are predominantly caused by linear scale, yaw, and pitching motion errors. The effect of the motion error corrections was evaluated by diagonal measurements based on the ISO230-6 standard and six different 1D position error measurements along the X and Y-axes. By applying error motion corrections, the diagonal systematic deviation at the center point was improved from 499.7 μm to 1.16 μm, and the estimated maximum 2D position errors were improved to −0.263 and 0.530 μm in the X and Y directions, respectively. The diagonal systematic deviation at a corner point was 1.23 μm and the estimated maximum difference between the corner and center points improved from −2.603 and 2.603 μm to −0.05 and 0.12 μm in the X and Y directions respectively. 相似文献

由于观测方向误差的存在,使得实际获得的方向向量与其理论值产生偏差,进而对各类自适应波束形成算法性能造成较大影响。为此提出一种有效的对角加载自适应波束形成算法,首先利用目标信号的方向向量在噪声子空间中投影最小的原理,对带有误差的方向向量进行校正,然后再使用可变对角加载原理求得对角加载因子,对实际获得的自相关矩阵进行对角加载后,形成自适应波束,从而很好地消除了方向向量误差造成的影响。算法能够有效克服目标信号对消现象,并具有良好的保形能力和快速收敛的特点。计算机仿真结果验证了这些优点。 相似文献
