An analysis of contemporary printed wiring board manufacturing environment in the USA

This article presents a comparative analysis of contemporary printed wiring assembly (PWA) batch manufacturing systems employing surface mount technology (SMT), This analysis is accomplished by reviewing a typical case study of PWA manufacturing system in the USA. A previously developed model is then applied to the system to predict the cost and performance in the production of typical PWA designs. Various modifications to the system are then proposed and evaluated. From the case study, conclusions concerning optimum manufacturing system configuration for this industry can be drawn and are presented.     

Electronic and optical analysis of high-efficiency photovoltaic materials based on a GaN semiconductor

An ab initio study using the local spin density approximation of the electronic and optical properties of materials where Cr transition metal substitutes for N in the GaN host semiconductor with an atomic concentration of 1.56% is presented. This material, characterized by an isolated and partially filled intermediate band, is a candidate for high-efficiency solar cells. The atomic and orbital composition of this band has been analyzed showing that is mainly made up of a t-group orbital of the transition metal. The absorption coefficient theoretical results show a sub-gap absorption with respect to the host semiconductor which could lead to an increase in solar conversion efficiency.     

FODA — the formal specification of ODA document structures and its use as a basis for conformance testing

The Office Document Architecture (ODA) is an International Standard which is developed by TC 97/sc 18 of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in close collaboration with CCITT's Study Group VIII and with ECMA. This paper describes the current state of a formal specification of the ODA document structures by mathematical means and its use for conformance specification and conformance testing.     

Usable optimistic fair exchange

Fairly exchanging digital content is an everyday problem. It has been shown that fair exchange cannot be achieved without a trusted third party (called the Arbiter). Yet, even with a trusted party, it is still non-trivial to come up with an efficient solution, especially one that can be used in a p2p file sharing system with a high volume of data exchanged.We provide an efficient optimistic fair exchange mechanism for bartering digital files, where receiving a payment in return for a file (buying) is also considered fair. The exchange is optimistic, removing the need for the Arbiter’s involvement unless a dispute occurs. While the previous solutions employ costly cryptographic primitives for every file or block exchanged, our protocol employs them only once per peer, therefore achieving an O(n) efficiency improvement when n blocks are exchanged between two peers. Our protocol uses very efficient cryptography, making it perfectly suitable for a p-2-p file sharing system where tens of peers exchange thousands of blocks and they do not know beforehand which ones they will end up exchanging. Therefore, our system yields up to one-to-two orders of magnitude improvement in terms of both computation and communication (40 s vs. 42 min, 1.6 MB vs. 200 MB). Thus, for the first time, a provably secure (and privacy-respecting when payments are made using e-cash) fair exchange protocol can be used in real bartering applications (e.g., BitTorrent) [14] without sacrificing performance.

汉语语音文档检索中后验概率的索引方法

基于音节Lattice形式的语音识别结果来实现汉语语音文档检索,不但可以成功规避词表外词问题,而且Lattice这种多候选形式也能有效补偿识别错误对检索性能的影响.在基于音节Lattice的汉语语音文档检索研究中,针对已有索引方法的不足,提出了一种基于后验概率的索引方法,对向量空间模型进行改进,以音节和K步邻接音节对作为索引项,以它们在语音文档中的后验概率值作为索引项权重.检索实验表明,文中的方法更适用于基于音节Lattice的语音文档检索任务,各项改进都达到了预期效果.     

电子商务配送速度与客户退单的关联建模仿真

在电子商务中,产品的配送速度与客户的退单率之间存在着较为复杂的关联性,这种关联性受到所在地域、购买时间、运输能力、订单处理能力、人为因素等多方因素的影响十分复杂.传统的建模方法只能利用多个简单的线性关系进行描述,加入了更多的复杂约束过程的描述,模型复杂,无法准确反映两者关系.为解决上述问题,提出基于PLS_SEM算法的电子商务中产品的配送速度与客户退单的关系建模方法.根据PLS_SEM算法的构建复杂模型特有的优势,建立电子商务客户退单评价模型,并利用退单校验因子定量分析了电子商务中不同的变量对于客户退单的影响,可以较好地解决模型中存在的过多约束问题,保证建模准确性.仿真结果表明,利用PLS_SEM算法能够实现对电子商务中产品配送速度与客户退单的关系进行准确分析,效果令人满意.
