Fifty Years On: Brown v. Board of Education and American Psychology, 1954-2004 An Introduction.

Introduces the current issue of the American Psychologist, which examines the ramifications of the Brown vs. Board of Education decision and its sequelae over the last 50 years, with a special focus on the mixed role of psychological research and practice. Despite the great strides toward a more just society since May 17, 1954, inequities remain in schooling, in social relations, and in economic opportunity. How will history judge American psychology 50 years from now vis-a-vis the possibilities it helped create via Brown? The articles in this special issue suggest several important directions of research and action our field will need to take if the verdict of history is to be a positive one. 中国工程勘察设计咨询业产业整合的路径选择

产业是由具有相互联系、相互制约的若干组成部分结合在一起并且有特定动能的有机体,产业分工越合理,资金、人力资源和各种自然资源与物质资料在产业内发挥的功能越大;中国工程勘察设计业的产业结构“中间大,两头小”,产业内部资源分布极不合理;结构调整的最佳选择是以工程项目总承包和分包为分工协作的垂直一体化:分化重组中间的工程咨询单位,组建顶端的EPC工程公司,发展低端的专业咨询公司、事务所。     

Ethical issues concerning expert systems' applications in education

This article traces the connection between expert systems used as consultants in medicine and their design for instructional purposes in education. It is suggested that there are important differences between these applications. Recognizing these differences leads to the view that the development of intelligent computer-assisted instructions (ICAI) should be guided by empirical research into social/psychological consequences and by ethical inquiries into the acceptability of those consequences. Three proposals are put forward: (1) that the pedagogical role of intelligent CAI be clarified, (2) that forms of intelligent CAI be developed that aim primarily at refining rather than replacing human judgements, and (3) that ICAI research and development projects contain components which address ethical and social/psychological components and which are equitably-funded, integral parts of the overall development effort.This work was supported in part by funds from the Foundation of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and from the State of North Carolina. 目前的社会信用信息工程中,许多的政府部门都建立了自己的信用信息数据库,但在政府各级部门数据库之间进行数据交流和共享存在着许多的问题,在许多地方,数据共享还是一片空白。Web服务技术是应用程序通过内联网或者因特网发布和利用软件服务的一种标准机制。利用WEB服务可以方便地实现不同系统之间的数据交换和集成。该文提出利用web服务技术来解决信用信息工程中的信息数据共享问题。并在此基础上提出利用WEB服务工作流技术将信用评估整合到电子商务过程,以实现可信用电子商务     

Learning Organizations in Construction

The transformation of organizations from production-oriented entities to proactive learning entities that continuously leverage the knowledge of the workforce is a primary objective of management researchers. This focus has significant relevance to the construction industry where production-related research has predominantly overshadowed organizational development research. As one effort to change this emphasis, the writers present a research effort designed to study current organization learning techniques and technologies fielded by organizations both inside and outside of the construction industry. Through a series of exploratory case studies, the writers developed a maturity model together with the Construction Industry Institute that provides construction organizations with a framework for developing a learning organization culture. The maturity model focuses on learning organization characteristics of leadership, processes and infrastructure, communication/collaboration, education, and culture at the organization, community, and individual levels. This paper introduces the results of that effort including a presentation of the learning organization maturity model, framework application, and the overall characteristics of a learning organization.     

Introducing Students to Professional Practice in Civil Engineering

This paper describes a module that was introduced into a civil engineering degree program with the help of professional engineers. The aim was to develop a bridge between the world of learning and professional practice by putting students in the role of consulting engineers working with industry to produce a feasible solution to a real inquiry from a client. The module is placed in context by comparing the goals of accredited civil engineering programs in the United Kingdom and America, by describing how it is linked to the degree program and by explaining the matrix developed to identify the skills the students needed to demonstrate their ability to practice as professional engineers. Details of the module are given with examples of student work and feedback.     

工业工程继续教育和高等教育自学考试方案研究

根据作者参与工业工程（ＩＥ）研究和学术活动的实践，阐述了如何把学习国外先进经验与中国国情相结合，并以机电制造工业为主要对象，研究和设计了ＩＥ专业继续教育和高等教育自学考试教学计划。同时说明了该计划的实施，为大批培养社会迫切需要的ＩＥ人才创造了条件，并对我国ＩＥ学科建设起到了积极的推动作用。     

长庆油田苏平1井固井技术研究与应用

苏平l井完井方式运用了技术套管一次上返、悬挂尾管和筛管技术。该井技术套管段井眼大、裸眼段长，加上大斜度、小间隙的尾管段．对水泥浆体系的性能要求较高。总结分析了长庆天然气水平井苏平l井的固井技术问题，介绍了苏平l井的井身结构与地层性质。通过研究．确定采用低失水GSJ水泥浆体系。该体系成功地应用在三次工程建井过程中，解决了长裸眼、大灰量、大斜度、尾管小间隙等固井技术问题。固井质量达到工程要求。     

黄河天桥水电站工程建设及泥沙处理主要经验

天桥水电站是黄河中游北干上的第一座高泥沙、低水头、大流量的径流式试验电站。它成功的施工与运营经验不仅对在黄河中游北干上开发梯级水电站，而且对中小型径流式水电站的施工都具有重要的借鉴作用。这篇文章总结了两期截流工程、基坑排水、固结灌浆、帷幕灌浆方面的施工经验。在诸如厂房位置的选择以及它的布置，泥沙、冰凌、洪水以及拦污方面的工程设计与运营的宝贵经验，使得水库长期保持高的有效库容和良好的运营状态。特剐是防止进水口淤积和水轮机的磨蚀方面的七条措施是非常有价值的。
