Connectivity infrastructure, hardware and software components for point-of-care testing (POCT) environments at medium-to-large sized hospitals with expected number of POCT instruments in the order of hundreds or thousands are described. The instruments include both network-ready and non-network-ready devices. The latter are connected to the network by means of a hardware-based Instrument Network Adapter. Instrument messages are converted to standardized form and, depending on message content, are routed and delivered to appropriate destinations by a software-based Message Routing System consisting of a Message Router and a Delivery Agent. This paper proposes a new topological designmethod, named BXCQ, which optimizes logical networkconfiguration while guaranteeing Quality-of-Service(QoS) requirements for each service class in an ATMnetwork. The BXCQ method determines the optimum logicalnetwork topology associated with each service class soas to minimize network cost. In our previously proposedFull-Net architecture these different logical topologies can be suitably mapped at the sametime on the same ATM physical network by using theVirtual Channel Handler (VCH) to create differentlogical interconnection networks. The BXCQ method allows us to clarify the relations between multimediatraffic characteristics and desirable logical networkconfigurations in Full-Net. Evaluation results suggestthat a service class that is bursty, delay tolerant, and cell loss sensitive with small demandshould be supported by a loop-like topology. This studywill be useful for designing flexible and cost-effectivemultimedia networks that can also adapt to not-yet-known services.  相似文献

Abstract

The influence of the mixture concentration on densification of Fe-Cr, Fe-Mo, and Ti-Cu compacts during solid state sintering were investigated. The hypothesis was put forward before that only S and V shaped curves for concentration dependencies of densification exist as a result of solid phase sintering of mixtures. It was shown, in this paper, that the above idea on the existence only two types of the plots was correct. These curve shapes can be explained on the basis of diffusion interaction of metals, applying the multiparticle model of a two component compact.  相似文献

We have formulated and examined an autonomous organization system for a transportation network system. In this paper, we have considered costs not only for traversing the network, but also for maintaining some routes on it. We assume that a working agent utilizes pheromone-like items for navigation. We have formulated a traversing cost of a route by considering the density of the items, which reflects the density of agents using the route. An agent arranges its route iteratively, then a whole network converges a state. As the cost function becomes a nonlinear equation, the topology of the emerged network depends on the resource of the system, i.e., the population of the agents. The results show that the proposed algorithm can change a transportation network into a feasible topology with a minimum traversing cost and the properties of a small world network.  相似文献

Abstract

Although numerical calculations of heat transfer and fluid flow can provide detailed insights into welding processes and welded materials, these calculations are complex and unsuitable in situations where rapid calculations are needed. A recourse is to train and validate a neural network, using results from a well tested heat and fluid flow model to significantly expedite calculations and ensure that the computed results conform to the basic laws of conservation of mass, momentum and energy. Seven feedforward neural networks were developed for gas metal arc (GMA) fillet welding, one each for predicting penetration, leg length, throat, weld pool length, cooling time between 800°C and 500°C, maximum velocity and peak temperature in the weld pool. Each model considered 22 inputs that included all the welding variables, such as current, voltage, welding speed, wire radius, wire feed rate, arc efficiency, arc radius, power distribution, and material properties such as thermal conductivity, specific heat and temperature coefficient of surface tension. The weights in the neural network models were calculated using the conjugate gradient (CG) method and by a hybrid optimisation scheme involving the CG method and a genetic algorithm (GA). The neural network produced by the hybrid optimisation model produced better results than the networks based on the CG method with various sets of randomised initial weights. The CG method alone was unable to find the best optimal weights for achieving low errors. The hybrid optimisation scheme helped in finding optimal weights through a global search, as evidenced by good agreement between all the outputs from the neural networks and the corresponding results from the heat and fluid flow model.  相似文献

This paper describes work carried out atUniversity College London to evaluate the use of MobileAgents (MA), written in Java, in network and systemmanagement. The work draws on experience fromconventional management systems based on ISO CommonManagement Information Protocol (CMIP) andInternet Simple Network ManagementProtocol (SNMP). These systems make use of theconcept of a Managed Object (MO). The paper describes the way in which the MOconcept has been translated into a form suitable forMA-based management and how the features of the Javalanguage may be used to express management information and to implement MOs. A platform has beenimplemented which allows MOs to be instantiated,controlled and stored. The platform also allows the easyproduction of MAs, their launching into the system and their subsequent management. In this paper, the novel idea of using an autonomous mobile robot as a virtual local network is proposed as a system for the remote diagnosis of faults of a mobile robot. There are two primary points in this research. First, an objective of the research is to achieve a system with good expandability, i.e. one in which the diagnosis can be achieved whether there are many or few mobile robots to be diagnosed. To accomplish this goal by simply changing some system settings, a simple network management protocol (SNMP) structure is utilized. Within the developed diagnosis system, a mobile robot is taken as one of the management objects of the network management system (NMS). The SNMP, which is widely used in the NMS, is applied and adapted to the developed system as the communication protocol for exchanging diagnosis information. Moreover, by taking advantage of the active moving and sensing ability of autonomous mobile robots, an effective method of fault inference called a 'run-test' is discussed. By using this method, the accuracy of the diagnoses is improved. In the best-case scenario, the certainty of an accurate diagnosis increased from 20% (without using the 'run-test') to 93%. On the other hand, in some cases, the accuracy of the diagnosis results barely improved. On average, among the cases discussed in this paper, the accuracy of the diagnosis results improved about 2.1 times by the proposed method.  相似文献
