Mid-level processes on images often return outputs in functional form. In this context the use of functional data analysis (FDA) in image analysis is considered. In particular, attention is focussed on shape analysis, where the use of FDA in the functional approach (contour functions) shows its superiority over other approaches, such as the landmark based approach or the set theory approach, on two different problems (principal component analysis and discriminant analysis) in a well-known database of bone outlines. Furthermore, a problem that has hardly ever been considered in the literature is dealt with: multivariate functional discrimination. A discriminant function based on independent component analysis for indicating where the differences between groups are and what their level of discrimination is, is proposed. The classification results obtained with the methodology are very promising. Finally, an analysis of hippocampal differences in Alzheimer’s disease is carried out. 相似文献

The outline in a single picture of a generic algebraic surface of degree three or greater completely determines the projective geometry of the surface. The result holds for a generic perspective view of a generic algebraic surface, where the camera calibration parameters and the focal point are unknown. Photographic outlines of 3 dimensional solids are robust and rich in information useful for surface reconstruction. This paper
studies algebraic surfaces viewed from 2 cameras with known intrinsic and extrinsic parameters. It has been known for some
time that for a degree d=2 (quadric) algebraic surface there is a 1-parameter family of surfaces that reproduce the outlines. When the algebraic surface
has degree d>2, we prove a new result: that with known camera geometry it is possible to completely reconstruct an algebraic surface from
2 outlines i.e. the coefficients of its defining polynomial can be determined in a known coordinate frame. The proof exploits
the existence of frontier points, which are calculable from the outlines. Examples and experiments are presented to demonstrate
the theory and possible applications.

The restricted correspondence problem is the task of solving the classical stereo correspondence problem when the surface being observed is known to belong to
a family of surfaces that vary in a known way with one or more parameters. Under this constraint the surface can be extracted
far more robustly than by classical stereo applied to an arbitrary surface, since the problem is solved semi-globally, rather
than locally for each epipolar line. Here, the restricted correspondence problem is solved for two examples, the first being
the extraction of the parameters of an ellipsoid from a calibrated stereo pair. The second example is the estimation of the
osculating paraboloid at the frontier points of a convex object.

利用圆迹SAR 对目标的全方位观测的特点,该文提出一种基于圆迹 SAR 数据的建筑物轮廓信息提取以及所处地面的高度估计的方法。首先,通过雷达立体测量的方法粗估计出目标建筑物所处地面的海拔高度。然后,以该高度为基准上下一定范围内划分多个成像平面层,在各个成像平面上对建筑物进行圆迹SAR成像。最后,在圆迹SAR图像中选择建筑物二次反射亮线构成封闭线框的一副图像,从该幅图像中提取建筑物在水平面的轮廓信息,同时将该图像对应的成像平面高度确定为目标建筑物所在地面的高度。P波段机载圆迹SAR实测数据验证了该方法的有效性。 相似文献
