This paper reports the results of a pilot study conducted to determine whether there is a relationship between simulator sickness and measures of driver inputs, vection, and postural sway, in a fixed base driving simulator. Seven males and four females performed a series of alternating left and right turns (20 each), with straigth-aways inbetween. The task was designed to promote experiences of circular and linear vection, and associated sway. It was hypothesized that greater driver inputs (i.e., steering wheel and braking activity; deviation from the centerline) would correlate: with reports of vection and measures of postural sway. Ten of the eleven subjects reported moderate sickness, which precluded any statistical comparisons between “sick” and “not sick” however, there was a significant tendency for persons who reported vection to also report sickness. There were no gender differences in reported incidence of vection or sickness, however, males tended to exhibit greater lateral velocity. The next phase of investigation will necessitate reducing the strength of the stimulus (i.e., require less turns) to increase variability of sickness scores amongst subjects and permit comparisons between “sick” and “not sick.” Measurement considerations include increasing the sensitivity of vection ratings, and examination of the timecourse for the development of postural sway.  相似文献

In several design codes and specifications, simplified formulae and diagrams are given for determining the buckling lengths of frame columns. It is shown that these formulae may yield rather erroneous results, especially for irregular frames. This is due to the fact that the code formulae utilise only local stiffness distributions. In this paper, a simplified procedure for determining approximate values for the buckling loads of both regular and irregular frames is developed. The procedure utilises lateral load analysis of frames and yields errors on the order of 5%, which may be considered suitable for design purposes. The proposed procedure is applied to several numerical examples and it is shown that all the errors are in the acceptable range and on the safe side.  相似文献

Simple approximate methods for analysis of unbraced frames have played a part in encouraging the use of steel in construction. These methods have been supported by research, to verify and to extend their scope. This paper questions their continued use and further development. It is appropriate to do this at the present time when documentation and software are needed to introduce the Eurocodes. Approximate methods still have a role, in initial design. For unbraced frames early consideration needs to be given to limiting sway in service conditions. A very simple formulation is presented, to enable section sizes to be determined to satisfy this criterion.  相似文献

该文采用PM随机海浪频谱来实时仿真长峰波随机海浪对潜艇的随机扰动,对潜艇在海浪中的横摇和纵摇运动进行了时域仿真,潜艇在海浪中的升沉运动则采用Hirom波浪力近似计算公式进行仿真计算。所采用的仿真方法已应用于六自由度潜艇操纵训练模拟器上,结果表明该方法能比较逼真地模拟各种海情下潜艇在海浪中的运动情况,仿真实时性好,仿真精度较高。  相似文献

Eurocode 4 is the European design code for composite construction; in its so-called ENV version, the scope is limited to “nonsway buildings” with efficient bracing systems. Therefore, it gives mainly rules to analyze and to check structural elements like beams, columns, slabs, and joints. However, in the last years, the construction of taller buildings and larger industrial halls without wind bracing systems is susceptible to make global instability a relevant failure mode, which is not covered by Eurocode 4. For 3?years, in the framework of a European research project funded by the European Community for Steel and Coal, in which the Univ. of Liège was deeply involved, intensive experimental, numerical, and theoretical investigations have been carried out. The latter aimed at improving the knowledge in the field of sway composite frames and at developing appropriate design rules. The rotational behavior of the beam-to-column composite joints is one of the key aspects of the problem to which special attention has been paid. This paper presents the numerical and analytical studies carried out at Liège Univ., as part of above European project, with the objective to investigate the behavior of sway composite structures under static loading. Particular phenomena put into sight through different analyses are illustrated herein. The actual response of the beam-to-column composite joints may be easily integrated into the described design and analysis procedures; this specific aspect is therefore not addressed in the paper.  相似文献

欧洲规范4是针对组合构造的欧洲设计规范,在EN1994-1-1中主要涵盖了对"无侧移框架建筑"设计的讨论。因此,欧洲规范4更注重对结构部件的检查,如梁、柱、板和节点。然而,近几年,没有抗风支撑体系的高层建筑和大型工业用房普遍出现整体失稳这样的失效模式,而欧洲规范4并没对其进行详尽的介绍。最近,在Liège大学进行了密集型试验以及数值和理论研究。后者旨在不断发展的设计规则下,完善对有侧移组合框架建筑这一领域的认识。梁-柱组合节点的转动性能是重要的一个研究方面并着重对其进行了讨论。文章介绍了Liège大学对这一研究主题的研究结果。特别提出一个新型的、可以预测静态荷载下钢和组合框架极限承载因素和相关倒塌模式的简化分析模型。  相似文献

对几类典型的不规则有侧移钢框架进行了一阶和二阶弹性分析,采用有限元方法得到了框架的二阶精确分析结果,并与现行《钢结构设计规范》(GB50017-2003)给出的二阶分析近似方法的计算结果进行了比较,分析了不规则钢框架的二阶效应以及规范近似方法对不规则框架的适用性,分析结果可供设计人员参考。  相似文献
