随着虚拟现实技术不断发展,360度视频编码开始成为研究热点。应用于虚拟现实的360度视频与传统的视频相比分辨率更高,编码数据量更大,在实际应用中面临传输带宽有限的瓶颈,编码效率问题有待解决。归纳分析了国际标准组织联合视频研究组(joint video exploration team, JVET)正在制定的360度视频编码投影变换技术及其编码优化方法,综合对比了各变换技术的编码性能。根据当前最新研究成果,对下一步研究需要解决的问题进行了探讨总结,给出未来的研究方向和思路。  相似文献

Abstract— A 360°‐viewable cylindrical three‐dimensional (3‐D) display system based on integral imaging has been implemented. The proposed system is composed of a cylindrically arranged electroluminescent (EL) pinhole film, an EL film backlight, a barrier structure, and a transmission‐type flexible display panel. The cylindrically arranged point‐light‐source array, which is generated by the EL pinhole film reconstructs 360°‐viewable virtual 3‐D images at the center of the cylinder. In addition, the proposed system provides 3‐D/2‐D convertibility using the switching of EL pinhole film from a point light source to a surface light source. In this paper, the principle of operation, analysis of the viewing parameters, and the experimental results are presented.  相似文献

The continuous spread of the COVID-19 pandemic is causing people to feel anxiety and stress. This study constructs a four-layer research model to examine how a 360° virtual tour can reduce people's psychological stress through two types of presence (the sense of presence and telepresence) and affective-motivational states (enjoyment and involvement) in this extraordinary period of the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to test the moderating effect of involvement, partial least squares (PLS) analysis is employed to analyse valid data collected from 235 individuals. The results of this study indicate that telepresence has a higher impact in generating affective-motivational states than the sense of presence. Among the factors, enjoyment shows the highest effect on satisfaction with the 360° virtual tour experience and stress reduction; involvement moderates the effect of telepresence on satisfaction with the 360° virtual tour experience. This study also contributes to virtual reality research by distinguishing the concepts of ‘sense of presence’ and ‘telepresence’ as well as demonstrating the mechanisms whereby virtual reality technology influences people's psychological well-being. Timely recommendations are provided for people in order to reduce psychological stress during and after COVID-19 pandemic.  相似文献

Object detection on 360°images is a vital component of 3D environment perception. The existing methods either treat panoramic images (usually represented in equirectangular projection—ERP) as normal FoV images and endure the distortions or project them into the less-distortion format and narrow the FoV, leading to unsatisfactory performance in practical applications. To solve this problem, we propose a dual-projection 360°object detection network named Bip R-CNN, consisting of three modules: a bi-projection feature extractor, a cross-projection region-of-interest (RoI) searcher, and a classification and regression predictor. Specifically, we extract the equirectangular and corresponding dual-cubemap features simultaneously from the input images. Besides, Projection-Inter Feature Fusion and Projection-Intra Feature Fusion are designed to allow the mutual interaction between the bi-projective features and promote the integration of features at different scales, respectively. In the proposed cross-projection RoI Searcher, we search for the bounding box (BBox) locations on cubemap from the corresponding ERP spherical proposals, bridging the RoIs of two different projection formats at feature level. Finally, the cube proposals are used to detect objects in the last predictor module. Considering the scarceness of the existing panoramic dataset (only indoor scenes), we propose an efficient approach to convert conventional datasets into annotated panoramic datasets without manual intervention, increasing the diversity of panoramic datasets. Extensive experiments are conducted on the synthetic and real-world datasets with spherical criteria, demonstrating our superiority to other state-of-the-art solutions.  相似文献

A system for assisting in microneurosurgical training and for delivering interactive mixed reality surgical experience live was developed and experimented in hospital premises. An interactive experience from the neurosurgical operating theater was presented together with associated medical content on virtual reality eyewear of remote users. Details of the stereoscopic 360‐degree capture, surgery imaging equipment, signal delivery, and display systems are presented, and the presence experience and the visual quality questionnaire results are discussed. The users reported positive scores on the questionnaire on topics related to the user experience achieved in the trial.  相似文献
