A method to obtain mechanical properties using a bonded (double) cantilever beam (or three point bend) specimen loaded in a manner to produce pure shear in the adhesive layer is reviewed. A revised mathematical solution which allows for easier interpretation of optimum beam dimensions to the one originally developed by Moussiaux, Cardon and Brinson for the static case is presented. An extension of this solution for a fixed/fixed viscoelastic beam under steady state oscillations developed by Li, Dickie and Morman is also discussed. Previous results using a vibrating beam to determine the complex viscoelastic properties of a bonded beam are reviewed. These results demonstrate conclusively that dynamic mechanical thermal analysis (DMTA) measurements discriminate differences in surface treatments and various environmental conditions. New measurements are presented that indicate the DMTA procedure can be used to quantify damage simulated by imbedded flaws in beams. The procedure is also shown to assess the effects of both humidity and corrosive environments on lap specimens. It is suggested that this technique may ultimately provide a method to quantify the amount of hidden damage in an adhesive joint subjected to fatigue, moisture or corrosive environments. 相似文献
To carry out the deep space exploration tasks near Sun-Earth Libration point L2, the CRTBP dynamic model was built up and the numerical conditional quasi-periodic orbit (Lissajous orbit) was computed near L2. Then, a formation controller was designed with linear matrix inequality to overcome the difficulty of parameter tuning. To meet the demands of formation accuracy and present thruster’s capability, a threshold scheme was adopted for formation control. Finally, some numerical simulations and analysis were completed to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed control strategy. 相似文献
Spatial regularity amidst a seemingly chaotic image is often meaningful. Many papers in computational geometry are concerned with detecting some type of regularity via exact solutions to problems in geometric pattern recognition. However, real-world applications often have data that is approximate, and may rely on calculations that are approximate. Thus, it is useful to develop solutions that have an error tolerance.
A solution has recently been presented by Robins et al. [Inform. Process. Lett. 69 (1999) 189–195] to the problem of finding all maximal subsets of an input set in the Euclidean plane
that are approximately equally-spaced and approximately collinear. This is a problem that arises in computer vision, military applications, and other areas. The algorithm of Robins et al. is different in several important respects from the optimal algorithm given by Kahng and Robins [Patter Recognition Lett. 12 (1991) 757–764] for the exact version of the problem. The algorithm of Robins et al. seems inherently sequential and runs in O(n5/2) time, where n is the size of the input set. In this paper, we give parallel solutions to this problem. 相似文献
This paper describes a model-based investigation of inspection standards being developed as a recommended practice for eddy current (EC) NDT of aerospace structures for surface cracks. Compared to experimental investigations that can be laborious and expensive, model-based approach provides cost-effective and quantitative verifications of the recommended practice that covers wide ranges of materials, probes, instruments, frequencies, and test conditions. Probe signals for a number of specified standard notches are predicted and the expected amplitudes and phase-angle ranges are determined for various test conditions, in order to examine the influence of material electrical conductivity, frequency, and probe types. For a few selected situations, the model predictions are validated against experimental data. This study verifies the adequacies of the recommended specifications, especially of the reference notch selections and their response amplitudes for various test conditions, as well as confirming the suitability of using vertical amplitude alone for all the test situations. The influence of probe cable and the issue of three-point calibration are also discussed specifically in this investigation. 相似文献
