| Abstract: | The research and development of fiber optic sensing techniques for monitoring corrosion of steel in concrete are described in this paper. The cause and phenomena resulting in corrosion of rebar in concrete are discussed briefly. The principle and characteristic of several types of fiber optic sensing schemes are introduced. The further study and development are also pointed out. |
