| Abstract: | A new neural network controller is designed and discussed for basis weight control of paper making process. Neural networks are trained by using the output errors of the controlled process directly. Little a priori knowledge of the controlled process is required. Simulation results show that this controller has the ability to overcome the negative effects of long response delay, parameter changing, and process noise. |
