Nerve impulse equations: Computer solutions and displays

Abstract:The differential equations for nerve impulse propagation (the Hodgkin-Huxley equations) are solved numerically by computer. Programs for performing these computations and displaying the results are described, examples of solutions are given, and the use of these programs in an undergraduate Neurobiology course is discussed.
