Compact City is the most sustainable development urban morphology which is in an integrated,optimized and harmonious development process among the economy,society and environment of the city.Ecological environment is as an essential element for compact city development,so greenbelt planning deserves greater attention.The paper expatiates briefly the connotation and core conception of compact city,and generalizes traditional planning ideas and models of urban greenbelt in a lot of urban planning theories between Western and Chinese.On the basis of analyzing the encumbrance existing in urban greenbelt planning.,the paper discusses respectively the planning model of greenbelt in compact city from three aspects including the land use control in macro-level,the greenbelt around city setting in medium-level and the vertical planting in micro-level.The research could be valuable and support use for reference for urban greenbelt planning in our country.
