Abstract:By taking the automatic voltage regulator (AVR) as one of the important parts of synchronizing generator control system, its properties can be verified there is only by means of the open-loop experiments (including the inputoutput characteristics, open-loop gain experiments and so on) and the closed loop experiments (the experiments of load shedding, short-circuiting, voltage stepping-up and static/stable testing are included), but the traditional test methods of the industrial site test, dynamic simulation labo- ratory test and RTDS test all are of the certain limitations. In this article, the AVR hardware-in-the-loop simulation test system is designed by combining the automatic testing technology with the virtual instrument technology and the Labwindows programming tech- nology, it has a great significance for enhancing the AVR testing performance and setting up the platform of general test system.
