| Abstract: | The cause of considering OPS (Optical Packet Switching) technology as a possible candidate in the long term is analyzed first, and then the technical ingredients of a generic OPS core node and the status of OPS related enabling technologies are given in detail. Finally the future potential of OPS is prospected. |
