In2011, the output of pulp and paper in Shandong kept a fast increasing speed, but the industrial economic benefit slowed down effected by the weak consumption, low price and increasing cost. In 2011, the output and main economic dataof paper industry of Shandong had been ranking the top for17 consecutive years. The income of the main businesses was 109 billion yuan, increasing by 6.8%; the profit and tax amounted to 9.2 billion yuan, increasing by 10.7% comparedwith the previous year; the total profit was 5.9 billion yuan,increasing by 39.3% compared with 2010. In 2011, the output of non-wood pulp was 700 thousand tons, decreasing by22.2% compared with 2010; the output of wood pulp was3.9 million tons, increasing by 39.3% compared with 2010;the total output of paper and board in Shandong was 16.3million tons, accounting for 16.4 percent of the nation total,increasing by 7.9% compared with 2010.
