龙滩水电站应尽早开工建设

龙滩水电站是红水河梯级开发的龙头电站，工程规模仅次于三峡工程，是红水河水电资源开发中调节性能最好，综合效益最大，工程经济指标最优越的战略性骨干工程。电站建成后，对缓解２１世纪初黔、桂、粤地区电力短缺，控制浔江、西江两岸及珠江三角洲的洪水，振兴华南经济，都具有十分重要的战略意义。该电站应尽早开工建设，早日发挥效益。

The construction of Longtan Hydropower Station should be started as soon as possible

Longtan Hydropower Station is the tap power station in the cascade development of Hongshui River. The scale of the project is only next to the Three Gorges Project. The Longtan Hydropower Station is a strategical key project in the development of hydropower resources,with the best regulating performance,maximum comprehensive benefits and outperforming project economic indictors. After the completion of the station,it will have extremely important strategical significance for alleviating the power shortage of Guizhou, Guangxi, and Guangdong provinces,controlling the flood in Xunjiang River,two banks of the Xijiang River and the delta of the Pearl River,and developing vigorously the economy in South China. Therefore,the construction of Longtan Hydropower Station should be started as soon as possible to bring the benefits early.
