| Abstract: | Minimum reinforcement for crack limitation concerning thick walls. The regulations concerning the minimum reinforcement for crack limitation, according to DIN ‐Fachbericht 102 and DIN 1045‐1, don't consider sufficient the differences in the mechanism of crack formation between thin and thick elements. Therefore thick elements are often over designed. This paper contains a design proposal for minimum reinforcement for thick walls, which can be found especially in bridge abutments ore bridge piers. The study also considers the favourable influence of measures concerning the concrete technology and the concrete curing. |
