Abstract: | The behaviour of the anions sulphide, thiosulphate, sulphite, dithionite and sulphate is examined on platinum using a triangular sweep technique. All sulphur anions, except for the sulphate anions, adsorb strongly to the platinum surface and prevent adsorbed hydrogen from being oxidized. The electrochemical behaviour of the anions on a platinum electrode may provide a method for analysing these compounds qualitatively and quantitatively. |
