Abstract: | Mechanical mixtures consisting of a catalyst (Pt/SiO2 or Pt/SiO2–Al2O3) and supports of varying acidity (hydrotalcite, SiO2, SiO2–Al2O3, and ZSM-5 zeolite) were tested for the selective reduction of NO by C3H6. A certain degree of support acidity appears to favour N2 selectivity, but if there are too many acid sites, carbon deposition becomes extensive and leads to catalyst deactivation. |
