Interactions between Migration Cities and Transportation Systems in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area

In the rapid development of migration cities in the reservoir area boosted by the progress of theThree Gorges Project the construction of road and transportation system in both the cities and the area as a whole has played an important role. This article, by analyzing the major factors that may have an impact on the road construction in migration cities and by discussing the problems that may occur in the balanced development between roads and cities, presents a whole picture of interactions between construction of migration cities and its road and transportation system, from such angles as the characteristics of mountainous cities, linkage of transportation inside and outside the cities, and techniques and measures of road construction.
