Abstract:To master the new technology of reluctance electromagnetic riveting, the influence of process parameters on riveting driving force was studied.The effects of various parameters the deformation of 2A10 rivet upsetting head with diameter of 8 mm were analyzed by changing the discharge voltage, coil wire cross-section size and projectile size, and compared with the forming rivet of induction electromagnetic riveting. As the discharge voltage increased, the deformation of the rivet head increased. At the same discharge energy, the rivet deformation of the coil wire cross-section size 2 mm×3 mm was less than that of the coil wire cross-section size 3 mm×4 mm and the rivet deformation of projectile diameter 33 mm was greater than that of projectile diameter 28 mm. At the same discharge energy, the rivet deformation of solenoid coil with 70 mm outer diameter was larger than that of flat coil with 120 mm outer diameter. The relevant parameters of coil and projectile are important parameters affecting the attraction of magnetoresistive electromagnetic riveting. Compared with the inductive electromagnetic riveting, the energy utilization rate of reluctance electromagnetic riveting is higher, and the outer diameter of coil is smaller, which provides a new way for the miniaturization of electromagnetic riveter.
