Abstract: | A synthetic aperture radar system can be made compatible with other interleaved modes if the impact of the interruptions in operation necessary to accommodate these can be ameliorated. The ways in which this might be done are discussed. Effects of regular and random interruptions are characterised by simulation and analysis. Two methods of image enhancement, based on interpolation and apodisation, are then discussed; the latter appears to hold more promise of practical usefulness. |
