Abstract:PAN/PEG composite is synthesized with polyethyleneglycol(PEG) as dopant and ammonium persulfate(APS) as initiator by one-step emulsion polymerization.The impact of different factors on the stability of PAN/PEG emulsion and gas sensing properties of composite are studied by controlling the variables.The optimum experimental parameters are obtained: n(DBSA)/n(An)=1.0,n(APS)/n(An)=1.0,n(PEG)/n(An)=2,polymerization time is 16h.The results indicate that the composite’s gas sensitivity reaches 43.8 to 1 000 ×10-6NH3 at room temperature,and the response and recover time are short.
