Una nuova rappresentazione asintotica dei polinomi ultrasferici

In this paper we obtain a new asymptotic formula for the ultraspherical polynomialP _n ^(λ) (x), asn→∞, with an error term which isO (n ^λ−5 ) uniformly in the interval −1+δ≤x≤1−δ,δ>0. Very accurate approximations for the zeros ofP _n ^(λ) (x) are also derived from the preceding formula.
