Abstract:The heat storage system is one of the core systems of the concentrating solar power(CSP)station, and the failure of the storage tank system is extremely harmful to the CSP station. At present, there are few studies on the temperature influence of the storage tank operation conditions, especially the first salt filling process, and there is no detailed salt filling process strategy to guide operation. CFD simulation has been presented to analyze the parameters of the first filling process. The influence on the molten salt temperature in the storage tank and the temperature difference of the tank wall has been achieved. Based on the simulation results, the preheating and heater system has been decided to use during salt filling together. By using this salt filling strategy to the first salt filling process of practical commercial projects, the temperature difference of the tank wall is well controlled, and the overall temperature of the storage tank is relatively uniform. What should be noticed is that the foundation of the storage tank can significate effect the salt temperature during the first salt charging process.
