"Depravity"and "Sweet-scented Osmanthus in Belated Bloom" are the two representative novels of Yu Dafu's in his earlier stage and later stage of writing, which reflect the writer's writing styles. The value of Depravity lies in the author's sense of mission of times, his fearless exploration for the conflicts between human desires and traditional ethnics rather than literature itself, while Sweet-scented Osmanthus in Belated Bloom possesses more lasting literary aesthetic feelings. This paper carries out comparative analysis on these two novels so as to re-estimate the value and position of the two works of Yu Dafu's.
