| Abstract: | This paper analyses and studies the cause of sruface cracks in continuous cast slabs.The main causes of the defects which are investigated are the damage of the submerged nozzle during casting and some undesirable properties of the mould powder.The occurrence of such defects are successfully decreased by applying the corresponding countermeasures. |
