Chemical durability of $\text{ThF}{}_4\text{BaF}{}_2$ glasses has been investigated in atmospheric moisture conditions. Corrosion of the melt by the vapor contaminates all the vitreous bulk. The corrosion of OH free glass until T_g is only a surface phenomenon depending on a diffusion process.
