Relationship between acidity and catalytic activity of high-silica zeolites in cracking

Abstract:The catalytic activity of mordenite and pentasil-type zeolites in cracking of n-octane is correlated with their acidity, determined from the measurement of the adsorption heats using ammonia as the probe molecule. The method of regional analysis is applied to calculate the specific activity of the sites with different strength of acidity.
