Architecture and Application of Active Network

As the applications of the Internet grow more and more popular, many new requirements keep appearing. But most of the new requirements are put forward just for few applications. So there's a very important requirement for the next generation network architecture: it must satisfy different requirements at different time and different area. This requirement leads to the concept of active network. This article introduces the concept of active network, the architecture of active router, the currently presented hardware architecture, and applications of the active network.
