Abstract: | An integral equation method is proposed for evaluating concentration distributions inside catalyst pellets. For low Thiele moduli this method is proved to be strictly contractive. For high Thiele numbers a regularization procedure is discussed. Numerically, the implementation of the algorithm reduces to an iterative procedure which is algorithmically simple and accurate. The problem of the multiplicity of steady states can be treated within the framework of the present method. Some examples of application are developed. |
