Abstract:The Awards for Distinguished Scientific Contributions are presented to persons who, in the opinion of the Committee on Scientific Awards, have made distinguished theoretical or empirical contributions to basic research in psychology. This document lists the winners of these awards from 1956 to 2006, and provides the citations, brief profiles, and bibliographies for the 2006 recipients, Michael Davis, Marcia K. Johnson, and Martin E. P. Seligman. The award addresses, Neural Systems Involved in Fear and Anxiety Measured With Fear-Potentiated Startle (see record 2006-21079-027), Memory and Reality (see record 2006-21079-028), and Positive Psychotherapy (see record 2006-21079-029), are also included.
