A generator of dissipative methods for the numerical solution of the Schrödinger equation

Abstract:In this paper a generator of hybrid methods with minimal phase-lag is developed for the numerical solution of the Schrödinger equation and related problems. The generator's methods are dissipative and are of eighth algebraic order. In order to have minimal phase-lag with the new methods, their coefficients are determined automatically. Numerical results obtained by their application to some well known problems with periodic or oscillating solutions and to the coupled differential equations of the Schrödinger type indicate the efficiency of these new methods.
