Abstract:Fe-W alloys were electrodeposited on steel surface from a citrate bath containing Na2WO4,FeSO4 and H3BO4.X-ray diffraction studies revealed that the deposited coatings had amorphous structure.The surface morphology of the produced coatings were investigated using scanning electron microscope(SEM).Then,the alloys were annealed in the temperature range between 450 and 850 ℃ and the effect of annealing on their structure was studied.Crystallization of the amorphous coatings started at about 550 ℃ and completed at 750 ℃.The microhardness of the coatings increased with increasing annealing temperature,reaching its maximum value(1443~1844 HV) for annealing at 750 ℃,and then decreased for annealing at higher temperatures.
