Abstract:It is very important to know how to get the equivalent dose of the sample in luminescence dating. First of all in selected frequency optical luminescence (SFOL) dating is to select the characteristic frequency of emitted photons from the sample (usually mixture of minerals). Then, equivalent dose of the sample can be obtained when the characteristic frequency was determined. The present paper has discussed which kinds of equivalent dose can be used to calculate age and several methods have been suggested. Some results coming from different methods have been collected in the table for comparison.
