Abstract: | Al2O3 addition to the melt of a BiSrCaCu2O x composition was found by TEM observation to cause the liquid-liquid phase separation of the melt-quenched glass, and to result in preferential precipitation of superconducting Bi2Sr2Ca1Cu2O x crystals from the melt during the cooling process. |
