| Abstract: | The application of Rare earth elements in cemented carbides has been one of the national major projects.Systematic experiments were made to study the cutting performance of the Re carbides as cutting tool materials.With the aid of such means as the scanning electron microscope and energy spectrum analysis,the cutting mechanism of the tool was clarified.Furthermore,the technical and economic benefits that the Re carbide tools will bring forth are also analysed in this paper in order to promote extensive applications of the new material. |
