Abstract: | A device was developed to enhance heat transfer from heated horizontal plates. The device consists of six straight gutters with slits at the center for the introduction of air. Heat transfer coefficients were measured for several device heights above the heated surface. A height of about 10 mm was found to give rise to the highest heat transfer coefficients.
