The construction of the Chinese power industry got excellent results in 2006 again. The power supply and demand was roughly balanced throughout the country. The scale of power sources projects that started constructing with the approval of the state was around 79,500 MW, of which hydropower came up to 19,500 MW, thermal power 59,600 MW, and wind power and straw-fired power 400 MW.
