Installing and configuring APEX on Oracle 10g database enterprise edition

A method to modify the anonymous access of Oracle XML DB was proposed to figure out the configuration of Oracle Application Express (APEX) V3.2 with Embedded PL/SQL Gateway (EPG) on Oracle 10g database enterprise edition. The bottleneck of accessing APEX related resources which deployed in XDB was eliminated after added the element "allow-repository-anonymous-access" in "xdbconfig. xml" and set its value to be true. The original solution, extra Apache Server and mod-pl/sql added to support APEX on Oracle 10g, had been simplified. It was helpful to understand the insights of Oracle XDB, EPG and APEX, and it could promote the widely application of APEX by analyzing and solving the related issues during the installation and configuration of APEX and EPG.
