Effect of Intermediate Transformer on Dielectric Loss Measurement of Capacitive Potential Transformer

In the measurement of impedance among primary winding, secondary winding and ground of capacitive potential transformer it is discovered that under a certain wiring mode the impedance may be inductive and this phenomena may cause abnormal result in the dielectric loss measurement, while the impedance is capacitive the affect on the dielectric loss measurement will be reduced to a small extent. In this paper the affect of intermediate transformer on the dielectric loss measurement of capacitive potential transformer under different wiring modes is analyzed in detail, the results of analysis is available for reference in site measurement of capacitive potential transformer.
