THE CHILD IN THE CITY: A RESEARCH AGENDA

Children are an important part of urban life. Although the birthrate is declining, there are still a large number of children living in cities. But we have devoted little effort to designing our cities to take children's needs into account. This paper presents a four-part research agenda. This agenda would provide the sort of information that decision makers need to create urban environments that foster the growth of children.
