Abstract:The offshore platform is exposed in harsh environment,which is not only influenced by the wind,waves and currents,but also by the equipments on the platform.As a consequence,the response data measured on the platform contains a lot of noise inevitably.The impulse noise is a common kind of noise in the process of data processing,which seriously affects the subsequent extraction of damage-sensitive features.Thus,a method combinedly using kurtosis detection and wavelet packet threshold was proposed in order to eliminate the adverse effects of impulse noise effectively in feature extraction.First,the kurtosis of the measured responses was tested to determine the influence range of impulse noise.Then,the signal in the range was processed by a de-noising method based on wavelet packet decomposition.Finally,the de-noised signal was obtained by reconstructing the wavelet packet coefficients.Based on the measured data of a jacket platform in service,the effectiveness of the de-noising method proposed was verified.
