Research and application of robust design of a steering wheel dynamic vibration absorber

Abstract:In order to reduce the idle vibration of steering wheels,a dynamic vibration absorber(DVA)based on the robust design method was designed.First,the dynamic vibration absorber equivalent parameters at mounting point were identified by the least squares iteration method.Then,the 6sigma multi-objective robust optimization method was used to optimize dynamic vibration absorber parameters.The natural frequency was predicted by finite element simulation before the prototype was produced,and its natural frequency was measured by the excitation table.The test results show that the dynamic vibration absorber based on the 6sigma robust design has better reliability and can effectively reduce steering wheel vibration.
