Abstract:In order to comprehensively evaluate the real-time performance of Profinet IO system,the real-time technology architecture for its communication function and IO controller is detailedly analyzed.According to this analysis,the latency time of communication function and the cycle time of the IO controller are calculated,and then,the response time of Profinet IO system is deduced.In the matter of the latency time of communication function,Siemens’s declared value is verified by deeply understanding the technology architecture and setting calculating conditions reasonably.In accordance with the IO controller,the process in which the IO controller utilizes the IO signal and the working principle of cycle time by deeply understanding the technology architecture and communication principle is explained.Finally,the way to improve the real-time performance of Profinet IO system based on these analyses above is pointed out.
