Besides phone and short message, people need more multimedia services that can support all kinds of individual needs everywhere. The third generation mobile communication system that is about to build cannot satisfy the requirements of future users. Experts around the world in mobile communications field have been researching and developing B3g or 4G systems. The paper deduces the fast implementation algorithm of GMC synthesis filter banks, then according to the characters of Virtex-II series made by Xilinx Inc., it designs the implement structure of FPGA for synthesis filter banks.
