An innovative solution for AC drive operation during voltage sags using a custom power device

Abstract:The paper describes an innovative technique for modelling and control of a dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) model for use within distribution systems and presents a design method based on the DVR to increase the reliability of a pulse-width modulated drive system due to AC power line sags. Validation is achieved by comparing simulation results of the modelling method of this paper with results from previous performance tests for actual system scenarios.
