原有建筑存留下的外墙都得到了完整地保留和修缮。墙体的厚重和它不明确的边界创造出了具有强烈特征的空间，这些内部/外部空间犹如“家俱”一般。墙体的一侧是新开挖的水池，另一侧则是新住宅限定的区域，这个小住宅的空间十分清晰，厚重墙体上的洞口中装上了玻璃，原有墙体与新住宅几何形体的并置形成了有张力的空间。而处于墙体内部的住宅则清晰而独立。
