Abstract: | The paper presents the design and test results of a novel circuit with dual band-pass filter for simultaneous recording of Local Filed Potentials and spikes from individual neurons. Single readout channel is built of an input AC-coupling circuit with the cut-off frequency below 0.1 Hz, a low noise preamplifier and two parallel band-pass filters with nominal bandwidths from 2 Hz to 100 Hz and from 200 Hz to 2 kHz. The design is optimized for low noise, high dynamic range, and low power dissipation. The circuit has been designed and manufactured in a 0.35 μm CMOS process as a multichannel chip comprising also an analog multiplexer for serialization of the analog output signals. |
