| Abstract: | Friction and wear performances of SiC ceramic were studied under the unlubricant sliding condition. In this paper, the characteristics of all worn surfaces and wear debris were examined by SEM,TEM. The wear chrarcter of SiC and its wear mechanism were analyzed and discussed. The experiment results show that dominant wear mechanism of SiC / SiC or SiC / Si_3N_4 is elastic fracture wear. It is mainly caused by grain boundary fracture, inter-granular fracture and brittle fracture. |
